THE JOURNEY
The CSB team embarked on a long and unforgettable trip to Mammoth Lakes, California. Inspired by the 'great outdoors', Open Air is all about adventure and taking on nature (CSB style, of course).
Surrounded by breathtaking views, Mammoth Lakes was a no-brainer location for the shoot. Though it meant a long 7 hour drive from where the team were staying in Los Angeles (not to mention the 14 hour flight from Australia). To say we have a devoted team is an understatement!
SCOUTING
There was no time to waste when they arrived at Mammoth Lakes. Everyone headed outside to scout locations for the shoot the next day, where they were greeted by a bear and soon after a bald eagle (a proud achievement for Aussie locals).
With such extraordinary views, it was hard to choose only four locations for the shoot but after an afternoon of walking around, the team narrowed it down and headed back to get some rest before the massive day ahead.
SHOOTING
The ten hour shoot day started off a little rocky with the vintage Bronco the team hired not starting, requiring a tow truck to take it to each location. Nevertheless, team CSB are resilient and weren't going to let one minor hiccup set the tone for the day.
The first location was a 'pinch-me' moment for the team with scenic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Next, the team pitched a tent nearby creating the dream camping destination and capturing imagery like we've never seen before - if you've never wanted to go camping before, you will soon - trust us.
The third location was on Lake Mary, where the team rolled in (well, towed) the Bronco with an idyllic backdrop. The team's vision was truly coming to life; a shoot designed to capture the essence of the outdoors and set the scene for the endless possibilities Open Air will offer.
The team headed further into the national park for the fourth location, where they spotted their second bear. A little too friendly, they had to wrap up and move away from the bear for the safety of the team (even though it would have made for a great shot). The team finished off the day as the sun was setting, capturing some beautiful images of our highly requested caps - the first of many in CSB's history.
THE COLLECTION
Inspired by adventure and nature, we wanted to curate a collection that makes you long for hikes with your best friends (or to just get outside). We're introducing ten new styles in four new tones, all inspired by the outdoors: Alpine, Air, Trail, and Oak. This will be CSB's second launch with the ultra-compressive Activluxe fabric, plus an all-new fabric as light as Air; expect support, comfort, style, and functionality no matter where your day takes you.
